Edward Curtis "Canyon De Chelly" Photo Lithograph Print
Edward Curtis "Canyon De Chelly" Photo Lithograph Print
Entitled "Canyon De Chelly," this monochrome photo-lithograph is printed on acid-free mouldmade paper and was created by award-winning printmaker Steven Anderson using Edward Curtis' original glass plate negative printing technique and custom ink from France.
Widely considered Curtis' most impactful work, "Canyon De Chelly," pronounced “de chay,” after the Navajo “Ta She," a sacred canyon to the Navajo located in Northeastern Arizona. This print depicts the insignificance of man relative to nature, illustrated through the sheer size of enduring cliff formations that surround the horseback riders.
This limited edition unframed lithograph measures approximately 21" x 27", is individually embossed with a facsimile of Curtis' signature, and numbered according to suite.
